The author writes:

I like to think that there's an interesting story behind every comic I create. Sadly it's not so. In fact I think that notion only applies to one strip out of every ten, and even then it's somewhat debatable that said back stories even begin to approach interesting. Today's comic is based upon an old dust rag I found on top of the filing cabinet the other day, hence all the grey colouring and the disordered theme.

Of course if you think that's bad, yesterday's comic was based upon the empty space that the TV usually occupies in the living room as the thing was down at the repair shop at the time.
