EDIT: Apparently if you press Ctrl-Alt-(one of the arrow keys) that can help as well. I can't test this at my end because I use an operating system I hacked together myself at university - I call it pOStcard. Ain't that cute? The only problem is that sometimes the fan ejects out of the side of my tower for no apparent reason, but I should be able to fix that soon.
