The author writes:
It is fallacious to assume that piranha opera can only cover one particular genre, but the fact is even an untrained novice can write piranha opera (composition, libretto, or both) in a wide variety of genres without losing the very soul, the very essence of what it is all about. I have seen piranha opera comedies, tragedies, epics, pantomime even! Why, I think my favourite piranha opera production to date would have to be this one where the libretto was a serious, straight up adaptation of Virgil's The Aeneid; one could claim that the source material was written specifically to become a piranha opera performance, it was just that perfect!
