Translated from ancient Sumerian by: David Morgan-Mar

The author writes:

I've got this idea for a new business. You know how newspaper classifieds work? People with stuff to sell pay a small fee to advertise it in the newspaper, and people reading the newspaper see the ads, and might decide to contact the seller and buy the item.

What about a type of World Wide Web site that is like classifieds, but on the Internet? And - get this - instead of a fixed price, because people on the World Wide Web can see the item all at once... they can bid on it like an auction! And at the end of some time, the highest bidder gets the item.

I think this might be useful for enough people to work. If I had the computer programming skills I'd try and do it myself. I think if you ran a World Wide Web site like this, you could probably make a few thousand dollars a year.

If anyone wants to try this, please feel free to use my idea, but let me know! I'd be interested to see if it works!
