The author writes:

Fun fact: one very early rendition of the Braseby family depicted them as authors of their own lazy avant-garde webcomic where they'd post fictional "author commentary" for strips they never drew. Their commentary described a reality like our own, but minus some key figures in the webcomics scene (such as David Morgan-Mar), but they always contradicted each other regarding what was changed in this reality and what stayed the same, and they couldn't agree on what the fictional author should be like either. I abandoned this concept after a day to seek out something much more interesting: the Brasebys you see today.

Of course, today, I just couldn't help but slip a reference to their old would-have-been webcomic, which is why this author's note is ramblier than usual.
