The author writes:
Previously on Postcard, we concluded the following story arcs in which:
- Lenny was visited at night by three ghosts who went on to teach him the true meaning of Egyptmas.
- Gwenyth met Professor Wilmington for the first time, whereupon an accident with an experimental trouser press flings them back in time where they have to ensure that Sir Arthur Braseby's car explodes on the 1st November 1956, thus ensuring that he actually gets a new one the following weekend.
- Albert and his brother-in-law Steve became furniture dealers.
- Elephants conquer the planet Mars, but are then foiled when Percy the Cat reverts to his base instincts and offers up a live mouse to Grand Pachyderm Congress.
- And Henry Rigel, head gardener to the Brasebys, manages to transform the entire continent of Antarctica into a tropical rainforest.
Meanwhile, coming up on Postcard:
- Lenny is visited at night by three ghosts in order to teach him the true meaning of Dr. Insidio's birthday.
- Gwenyth and Professor Wilmington are transported even further back in time, where they find themselves as front line Generals in the Roman Army during Julius Caesar's Gallic conquests.
- Albert and his brother-in-law Steve become professional salvage divers.
- Parakeets invade the planet Mars, but alas, Percy the Cat is distracted by a ball of yarn.
- And Henry Rigel is recruited as a consultant for an irrigation scheme in the Sahara desert, much to the chagrin of the current Lord Braseby, who just wants his head gardener back.
