The Duke of Wellington did not invent the boot, the Earl of Sandwich did not invent the sandwich, the Earl of of Cardigan did not invent the cardigan, and nor did Plato invent the plate for that matter. Oh, and we all know what Thomas Crapper definitely didn't invent! However, I have it on good authority that Saladin did indeed invent the salad.
