I can't believe I just drew that.

There's a funny thing about weaving a story - it's important to know why you're writing, but most good writers don't know what they're writing. Characters take on lives of their own, and as a story progresses it's common for characters to seriosly [sic] surprise their artists and writers. If you're ever writing something and a character does something you don't want them to do, but you know it's what they must do, chances are you've written something powerful and important.

Of course, it's also possible you're just a hack who doesn't know his characters. But hey, that's a risk you gotta take.
