I've been thinking about how you can take the square root of a minus Garfield. My idea for this submission was to just take the square root of minus Garfield's hue; since hue is a polar coordinate negating it is equivalent to a modular addition and taking the square root is equivalent to halving it.

Those of you who are paying attention will realise that each (minus) hue has two square root hues. Fortunately the source comic has a gap in its hue range. This gap itself has two square roots, and I can therefore choose a square root hue range that starts at one gap and finishes at the other.

For this comic I chose the range that includes the hue nearest to pink.
