Strip by: Trevor

{Jonathan Q. Arbuckle and his bloated orange furball are at a computer, with Our Holy Almighty Creator's name and the date drawn on it}
Jon: "Lyman's Revenge" by Jon Arbuckle...
Jon: Lyman comes back to get me...
Jon {now feeling down}: ...and then I wasted it on a crappy story
Garfield: At least you admit it

The author writes:

I did this strip on June 3 because I didn't exactly put in the kind of effort I should have on "Lyman's Revenge" (I may George Lucas it, who knows); I'm posting it now because I wanted to give it a bit of distance first. Like how Jeopardy!'s guest hosts were thought to distance the new host (which, as we all know, ended up being Amy Farrah-Fowler and the GOAT himself) from the late, great Alex Trebek before Mike Richards' attempt at Leno-ing his way to the job. Surely Richards would've gone on a long time, right? RIGHT!?

Anyway, I'll take "Enough jabbing at slimebag TV producers for now" for $200, Ken or Mayim.

Original strip: 2000-10-28.
