The author writes:

Has anyone heard of this little humor comic-strip called Garfield? I used to think comics were all Supermans that couldn't hold any artistic merit. Garfield shocked my world! The punchlines are so intellectual and the subtext is deeper than you'd expect. The main character is clever and not only makes for good setups but also represents the cartoonist's internal struggles! I used to think comics couldn't hold any artistic merit, then I read Garfield. hbomberguy made an awesome video about Garfield. The punchlines in Garfield make you think and the cleverly interwoven themes REALLY make you think! The "orange cat" character makes for more than just great gut-busting laughs. Comics can finally be art for smart people. Smart art, if you will. Garfield is the way forward for not only comics but art as a medium, and perhaps for civilization as a whole. Garfield is an Indiana masterpiece. Garfield
