{Jon holds an Annual December Holiday Greeting Card; Garfield watches smugly from one side}
Card {in cursive, with underlined text as filled-in blanks using a different font}: Dear sweety love pigeon,
Card: a very folksy Saturnalia to you, a cat, and yours on this, the most joyous time of year, the greeting card company
Jon: How sweet!
Garfield: He loves the greeting card company

A ready-made templated Garfield strip, with fill-in-the-blanks spaces given to create innumerable mad-libs style holiday greetings from? What's the best joke I can think of...

No, that's taking too long; I'll just do this instead. I at least like the contrast between the greeting card company being on (ridiculous) pet-name basis with Jon, and not-even-referring-to-him-with-the-definite-article basis with Garfield. (I could have made that reciprocal as well, I suppose - but then it makes 'a cat' less distinctive word choice on the part of the greeting card co. and loses some of its impact I think)

Bonus strip: I also discovered that if you swap Jon's colour palette around, he almost always ends up looking like a much more present-day comic artist's depiction of themselves! The more things change, the more they stay the same, only now with more hair dye.
