Strip by: MichaelSar

{Jon is showing Garfield a photo album and pointing at a picture of a dog}
Jon: This is a picture of "Scraps," our neighbor's dog on the farm
Jon: Boy, he loved to play fetch
Jon: Then, one day he almost chased a stick into a thresher
Garfield: He would've lived up to his name

The author writes:

I was never a fan of the punchline in the original strip. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive, but I fail to see the humor in a dog being shredded to bits by farm equipment. And why the heck would somebody throw a stick for a dog to fetch into a thresher anyhow? What kind of psycho did "Scraps" have for an owner?

Original strip: 2000-05-03.
