I'm amazed that nobody's done this yet. Removing Garfield's thoughts - and, as a result, making Jon look even MORE diabolical in addition to adding an element of "what does he mean by 'go get us a snack'? Why is he acting all evil and stuff? What is he planning?!" - is such an obvious edit for this site to do.
