The author writes:

I'm convinced that whichever person at Paws, Inc. copy-pasted the original comic accidentally/purposefully mixed up the first two panels, since the usual "setup/development/punchline" formula is completely broken in it, making it more like "setup AND development/pointless beat panel that ruins the flow/punchline". Obviously, this shall not do, so I corrected that inexperienced intern's mistake.
