Strip by: MichaelSar

{Garfield's stomach is growling}
SFX: Rrrrrr
Garfield: Boy, am I hungry. I need some sort of snack
{Garfield walks around the kitchen in search of a snack. Eventually, he comes across the cookie jar}
Garfield: The cookie jar! Perfect!
{Garfield takes the lid off the cookie jar, unleashing a bunch of smoke}
SFX: Poof!
{When the smoke clears, there is a creepy-looking blue CGI... THING that looks like a cross between Will Smith and a member of the Blue Man Group emerging from the cookie jar}
Genie of the Cookie Jar: I am the Genie of the Cookie Jar!
{Garfield just stands there, horrified}
Genie of the Cookie Jar: You have three wishes!
{Garfield is so terrified of the creepy looking Will Smith genie that he runs away screaming, confusing an oblivious Jon}
Garfield: ARRRRGH!

The author writes:

I don't think I'm in the minority in saying that the Aladdin remake looks lousy. Or that Will Smith should not have been cast as the Genie. Or that the CGI Will Smith Genie looks creepy. And I'm pretty sure that the Genie in the original strip is intended to be a parody of the Genie from the original animated Aladdin, so I decided to whip this comic up.

The question is: is Garfield running away screaming simply because he thinks the Genie looks creepy, or because he thinks it looks creepy AND he saw the Aladdin remake and hated it?

Original strips: 1989-09-05, 1996-07-07, 2001-02-13.
