Strip by: Lubaf
Garfield: It's fun to lie here and muse on the meaning of life.
Jon: {on phone} Ohh... That's too bad.
Garfield: Heck, I need an audience.
The author writes:
I'm sometimes curious as to what Garfields ran on the date of certain disasters, so here are three panels from the Garfields that ran on the dates of three major man-made disasters: The Challenger explosion, the premiere of Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel, and the beginning of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Edit by the author, after his mistake was pointed out shortly after release of this strip in this thread: In keeping with this particular strip's themes, it turns out I used the wrong date for one of the strips above: Instead of the intended April 20th, 2010, I instead accidentally used the strip from April 20th, 2011, a day on which nothing particularly disastrous happened. After consideration, I have decided to leave the strip as is, in keeping with all three disasters being the result of slipshod quality control and bad management practices.]]
