Strip by: Ian Boreham
{The sun rises. In the foreground is a stand of sunflowers.}
{The sun is above the horizon. It glances down at the sunflowers and smiles.}
{The sun is higher, and looks around, smiling.}
{The sun has moved across the sky, and the sunflowers have followed it. The sun is looking down at them dubiously.}
{The sunflowers continue to follow the sun. The sun frowns.}
Sun: Stop it! You guys are really creeping me out!
{The sun's view of the sunflowers: they are all staring insanely, directly at the sun, with crazy smiles.}
The author writes:
I'm really not sure what to say about this one. A cosmic ray struck a synapse in my brain or something, and this happened.
Drawn in Krita and Inkscape. Took way longer than I expected due to sunflowers being complicated. In retrospect I should have done it in Inkscape, drawn a single flower, and copy-paste-adjusted it. I also realised just now that I forgot to draw leaves in all panels but the last. Oh well. I am happy with the last panel, though. They came out looking (to me, at least) just as demented as I had hoped.
