The author writes:

Well, this is what it's come to. No ideas I can write without art. My sketchbook is missing. I could learn how to draw on my wife's digital tablet, but that would require finding the missing tablet and then learning how to draw.

So I'm falling back on the old trick of "give the characters an open mike and see if they say anything helpful". So far this doesn't look promising.
