The author writes:

A number of the strips I'm submitting this year have been in my head as ideas for years. This one in particular has been waiting a long time for me to get ambitious enough to try it.

Further note: It seems I’ve pulled a George Harrison here. During a rereading of Understanding Comics, I came upon a comic that had a strong resemblance to this one. (It’s on page 105, if you want to compare.) I still decided to send it in, partly because the work is done, and partly because it’s just different enough to avoid being a complete ripoff. Still, I’m a bit embarrassed.
