{The gang are musical notes, on a staff}
Samantha {a crotchet}: La la la la...
Ambrose {a crotchet rest}: Would it kill you to be quiet? I'm trying to rest.
Holly {a quaver}: S-sorry sir!
Meridien {a dotted crotchet}: I hear a quaver in your voice... don't be upset. He can be a bit crotchety at times.
Oliver {a breve}: Sorry Ambrose, we'll try to be breve.
Delkin {a minim}: And we'll try to keep the noise to a minimum.
The author writes:
There probably shouldn't be a double whole note in 4/4 time, but Wikipedia says, "Some modern composers use a breve even when the note value extends beyond the measure. Some write a thicker bar line on each side of the note as a means of indicating two joined measures, while some omit this, placing the note in an apparently normal measure."
Also, the music would probably sound awful, so don't bother trying to play it.
