The author writes:

She does have a point there. The Academy won't even be transparent about why they won't accept Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (despite the acclaim and success it has had) for a Best Picture submission. Then again, the YMMV trope "Award Snub" exists for a reason.

Lesson learned: stop treating the word of award shows as the only word.
