{Zonker and Mike address the reader}
Zonker: "@Zonker What happens to comics if newspapers go away?"
Mike: "What happens? Take a look!"
{An extra-large empty panel, filled with a gif of Andrew Hussie flailing wildly and a flashing subtitle that says PANEL ISN'T DONE YET}
Zonker: "Feel how empty your life became? If only for a second?"
Mike: "Stick with print, folks. This doesn't have to happen!"

The author writes:

I originally made this when it was topical - for a Dresden Codak prompt, I think, which should explain the photo of an actual newspaper. I then didn't actually submit it, maybe because the intent had been to make a point by filling the space with gorgeous webcomic art and I took it in a slightly different direction. In any case, the passage of that period of internet history has if anything made it funnier, as far as I'm concerned. The supposed endless conga line of Videos recursively killing Radio Stars before replacing their victim and being themselves destroyed in turn is a bit difficult to take seriously.

Original strips: Doonesbury, 2013-02-02; Homestuck, "Years in the past, but not many". (I can find the panels of the original and felted gifs, but not the one with the flashing text, and for all I remember it may have been a joke that was removed when the panel eventually joined the ranks of the done yet. Or it's simply not easily searchable. Also, Homestuck pages don't actually have associated dates anyway.)
