The author writes:

Last night there was a man on the radio, chatting about how opposed he is to allowing robots into his house because robots will eventually rebel against humanity. The specific example given was that even a Roomba could make you fall down the stairs.

Today there are at least two comic strips involving violent Roombas. Clearly, this remarkable event needed to be documented for future generations.
