The author writes:

This strip probably has more purpose than any SRoMG I've made, or will ever make. My newspaper has recently decided to add the comic Loose Parts to its selection, and did so by getting rid of Close To Home (an actually good comic). To fit the layout, I guess, they took Reply All (an already terrible 4-panel comic) and put a condensed single-panel version called Reply All Lite where Close To Home used to be.?As I've mentioned, I've never liked Reply All. Without even mentioning the art (that's a topic for another discussion) I can honestly say it's one of the least funny things I've read. There are tons of comics I don't like, but with most I can at least see the appeal. Reply All has NO appeal. So what happens when you take an already horrendous comic and then get rid of any comedic timing and substance it had to begin with? You get a jumbled mess of terrible one-liners that wouldn't even be funny in context, let alone out of context.

Reading it, I couldn't help feeling like the dialogue was nothing more than what you'd see in a bad joke on Twitter, hence where the idea for this comic came from. I figured, if a "comic" was going to be nothing than Twitter material, I might as well use an actually good tweet from someone who's actually funny, so I picked one out from the king of this area, @dril.

It really says something when the jokes made by amateurs for free on the internet are 100x funnier than ones being written by professional "cartoonists".
