The author writes:

In this story arc of FoxTrot wherein Roger quits his job and hilarity ensues, he for some reason until the moment he got his job back had spots on his face. Apparently quitting your job either makes you unable to shave or unable to have a good night's sleep. The strip you see here was the ONLY one where they were missing. I added them back on.

Fun fact: I always thought in this strip Andy was specifically referencing Comedy Central with her last comment and it was called "The Comedy Channel" back then. It was not until I was doing research to see if it should be capitalized for this strip's transcript that I found out there WAS a period when they were called "The Comedy Channel" but it ended in 1991. The joke probably would have worked better if it was "A comedy channel".

If only Adult Swim had existed back then it would have been even better for Andy's comment, as if I'm not mistaken they really enjoy their fake commercials.
