Strip by: Mr. Skullhead
Stephan Pastis: Okay, guys, it seems like with oil, food and all the other world's commodities, newspaper ink is now in short supply.
Rat: So?
Stephan Pastis: So that means cutbacks. Like today, no panel lines.
Pig: That's not so bad. Can we do anything else?
Rat {without his head}: Next time keep your fat mouth shut.
Pig {also without his head, standing on a bathroom scale}: Look! My ideal body weight!
The author writes:
In the commentary for this strip, Pastis writes: "If you look at the buildings in the drawing Pig is holding, you'll see that one of them is the cheese building referenced in the prior strip. That, my friends, is plot coherence."
Then in the commentary for the original strip, Pastis says: "So here I am talking about deleting panel lines, but if you look at the strip I'm drawing on the desk, there are panel lines. So much for plot coherence."
With the power of Microsoft Paint, I have removed the panel lines from the strip. Now plot coherence has been restored.
Original Pearls Before Swine strip: 2009-01-09.
