The author writes:

Gary Larson released not one but three new strips on his return to cartoon publishing on 7 July, 2020. While the first one had a joke that my friends and I thought could be improved, the third one we just didn't get at all. The best justification we could come up with was finding these Canadian bear cub biscuits with a bit of Internet searching, but that still doesn't really explain what's going on or why it might be funny.

So we brainstormed a bunch of ways to turn it into a better joke with some minimal editing. We decided that simply changing the caption added enough.
