Garfield: If I could turn back time . . .
Garfield: If I could find a way . . .
Garfield: I'd take back those words that have hurt you . . .
Garfield: And you'd stay.

The author writes:

It's finally happened. Garfield's campaign of abuse has finally driven Jon out of the house, never to return. And as the days go by, Garfield slowly realises that there is a hole in his life that will not be filled. Now, burdened with strange new feelings of guilt and loneliness, eyes brimming with unshed tears, Garfield can only express himself in the words of early '90s American pop radio. Surely death is a kinder fate.
