CISRA Puzzle Competition 2013 - Hints
3E. Sudorubikube
- Ignoring what was given, consider what the Sudoku must look like when flattened - all numbers upright. How and where can a Rubik twist move a piece? The 6s, 8s, and 9s are deliberately rotationally ambiguous.
- Start with the corner cubelets, they're the easiest to place, then examine the edges. The constraints of a Rubik's cube are such that the edge pieces cannot be exchanged with their neighbours.
