{Scene: Oliver Squirrel lies mangled and flattened in the middle of the road, with a large tyre track running over him. Nearby, outside their house-in-a-tree, Holly Squirrel calls out, oblivious to the fate of Oliver.}
Holly: Oliver Squirrel, you get your tail back inside and finish cleaning your room this instant!

The author writes:

This morbid comic is intended to mimic the style of The Far Side.

A while ago, my wife and I were driving home when we came across a run-over squirrel in the road, with a live squirrel looking closely at it. As we approached, the living squirrel scurried off to the curb as we drove past.

This lead to a conversation about squirrel families, and we made up stories about what was going on from the squirrels' points of view. Many of the stories were sad, but I realised that most of those stories seemed to come straight from a Gary Larson cartoon.
