Strip by: Colin Foster

Jon: This dark and rains outside.
Jon: There is a mouse in the window sill of the window.
Jon: And it touches saxofón tiny!
Garfield: Good day for the blues.

The author writes:

You may remember my attempt at translating Garfield into Spanish (¡Mexicano Garfield!, 532). As it turns out, machine-translation services like (the currently endangered) Google Translate are imperfect and make no sense to native speakers; I, not speaking any language other than English, missed out on this.

In the aftermath, I learned that Garfield strips on the official site have Spanish translations if they were published after a certain date. Eventually, I got the idea to deliberately mistranslate one of those translations for comic effect. (Strip 733 may have given me the idea.) I ended up going with Babelfish for this one, because it's still as broken as it was when I discovered it nearly ten years ago and gave a much funnier result.
